Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day to all mamas, fur baby mamas, future mamas, foster mamas, adoptive mamas, grand-mamas and aunties!
There isn't a day when I don't think of my mom, but Mother's Day is especially difficult. This year is my first year as a mother, and I'd give anything to be able to have my mom share this experience with me. I've always wanted to be a mom, but I never knew how difficult the road to motherhood would be. After two miscarriages, my husband and I decided to resort to IVF... hundreds of hormone and blood thinner injections later, we finally were able to welcome baby Alexandra Margot into the world on October 10th of last year.
I am not sure where I would be now without my mom's vision... what if she never started Saian? My first job was at 14 years old - I got hired to hand out towels at a spa where my mother worked as an esthetician. 8 years later I left my beloved spa to join my mom in her business - a skincare company that I now head. She sparked my interest in skincare, and inspired me to get my esthetician's license, she showed me the business from the inside-out, and taught me how to be a self-sufficient, self-made woman.
I hope Alexandra has an interest in skincare, and joins me at work someday. If she has the passion for it, and wants to continue the legacy, this company will be hers one day. As for me - I've been enjoying my time off as a mom for the past few months, but I plan to get back into the swing of things, and will hopefully see some of you at the coming trade shows soon.
